I don't remember every not reading. But I do remember the first book that I just could not put down, The Color Purple. I discovered it on the floor, left behind in my mothers car by a friend. I would walk down the street reading it. When I read, I find myself within the story, able to see the characters and colors which would come alive around me. But within the last couple of years, I couldn't remember doing things for jut me. So, two years ago I put out an email to friends about my idea of a bookclub. Several friends were excited about getting together to discuss books. But it's turned out to be more than a bookclub. It was a connecting place that allowed us to take off our shoes, let down our walls, and just be.
Well, jump to a year later and personal crisis hits the home front. So the bookclub was put on hold. But here we go again! So, for the beginning of a new year and to new starts, we need a little motivation; there begins our journey with "Points of Power: Discover a Spirit-Filled Life of Joy and Purpose" by Yolanda Adams. Hope it moves you to a place with patience, kindness, understanding, grace.
To the bookclub members, at the end of each chapter, there are 10 pensive points, choice one that you are willing to discuss with the group.
See you March 12th.
